Samsung Toner Cartridge Refilling Instructions
Refilling Samsung Toner Cartridges - ML4500 / ML1210 / ML1510 / ML1710 / ML1750 etc...

If your cartridge has a small round cap on the left side as you remove it from the printer (SEE GRAPHIC) it can be refilled using this method.

If no plug exists you can still refill your cartridge very simply and quickly, just remove the 5 screws from the top of the cartridge and gently lever the plastic retaining clips at the front edge of the cartridge with a flat blade screwdriver, the top of the cartridge can be removed completely so that you can pour new toner directly into the toner well / hopper.

General Preparation - Please read the warranty and health and safety data before proceeding. Place a few sheets of paper (we use newspaper) over your work surface. Wear a pair of latex gloves and a dust nuisance mask. Give the toner bottle a GOOD SHAKE before opening. If you shake the toner properly it will pour like liquid. Pour slowly and be careful NOT TO SQUEEZE THE BOTTLE, take your time and everything should be fine. If the toner stops pouring before the toner chamber is full, turn the bottle upright replace the top and give it a shake. DO NOT OVERFILL, always leave a little space in the toner chamber.

Open and Refill

NOTE: BE CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH THE OPC ROLLER (DRUM) ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CARTRIDGE, TOUCHING OR DAMAGING WILL EFFECT YOUR PRINTER OUTPUT QUALITY.

1. Locate sealing plug
Usually on the left side of the toner cartridge as you remove it from the printer (A picture of the sealing plug is provided above).

2. Lever out plug
Use a blade screwdriver to prise out the sealing plug.

3. Refill Cartridge
Screw the pouring nozzle on to the toner bottle. Gently pour the toner into the cartridge, tap the
bottle gently whilst pouring. DO NOT SQUEEZE THE BOTTLE! Do not overfill, leave some space in the toner.

4. Insert sealing plug
Push sealing plug back into place.

Cons
The sealing plug is sometimes difficult to lever out and can become damaged, this can lead to the possibility of toner leakage. Try to remove the plug as carefully as possible to minimalise any damage to the plug seal, we supply replacement plugs if required.

Refilling Samsung ML-1610 Laser Toner Cartridges
SAMSUNG ML-1610 / ML-2010 / DELL 1100
UNSCREW, UNPLUG and POUR

Tested for use with the new Samsung ML1610 D1 (E) starter cartridge.

GENERAL NOTES: RESIST THE TEMPTATION TO SQUEEZE THE BOTTLE during the pouring procedure, otherwise you'll spill the toner powder. While toner powder is considered harmless it does make an awful mess if spilt. Avoid touching the OPC drum (the metal cylinder on the bottom of the cartridge) touching or damaging this cylinder will have a negative effect on the quality and performance of your cartridge.

Refill Procedure
Refilling of the Samsung ML1610 / ML-2010 is quite easy. The cartridge has a refill plug hidden by a side plate, the plate can be unscrewed and gently prised off to reveal the toner refill plug.

1. Undo the 2 side plate fixing screws on the right side of the cartridge as you remove it from the printer (posi-drive type).(See picture on the left for exact screw positions).

2. Gently prise the side plate / blanking cover from the cartridge. You need to prise the cover very gently with a wide flat blade screwdriver or wide thin bladed knife. Work around the perimeter of the cover until it lifts off completely. N.B This cover also holds the retaining pin for the OPC drum; the pin is fixed in place to the cover and has a tight mechanical fit. You may need to gently twist the cover as it starts to lift off the cartridge in order to remove this pin from the roller mounting. Don't worry there are no loose parts or nasty surprises.That's the most difficult bit done!!

3. With the side plate removed you will clearly see the traditional Samsung style refill plug, the round shape about the size of a 1 pence coin (see picture opposite).4. Gently prise the plug out of the cartridge using a flat blade screwdriver. (We sell replacement plugs if you damage it, so don't worry too much).5. Pour 55g of toner into the toner cartridge (approx half the bottle), hold the cartridge at a 45-degree angle, gently tap the bottle DO NOT SQUEEZE THE BOTTLE, when finished replace the toner refill plug. 6. Replace the side plate by following the reverse of step 2, ensure that the cover "Snaps" back into place before inserting the 2 posi-drive screws.

The toner hopper is the long well inside the cartridge it runs the width of the cartridge, there is ususally a plastic bar inside and some residual toner. Screw the pouring nozzle on to the toner bottle. Gently pour the toner into the cartridge, tap the
bottle gently whilst pouring. DO NOT SQUEEZE THE BOTTLE! Do not overfill.
